Care Norfolk Inc. was founded by Lorraine Bataille who realised the need on Norfolk Island for in-home services to help the aged in the community to remain living in their own homes with a little bit of support.
These services were funded by the Norfolk Island local government and returned veterans were funded by the Department of Veterans Affairs (Australian).
Care Norfolk Inc. was established on 23 February 2011.
On 1 July 2016, Care Norfolk Inc. received funding from the Commonwealth of Australia to provide a range of services to seniors on Norfolk Island. In July 2018, this service expanded to incorporate the local Wetls (Meals on Wheels) service.
On 02 July 2018, Care Norfolk Inc. commenced providing services to people with a disability on Norfolk Island as funded by the Australian National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).
Care Norfolk Inc. has a volunteer Management Committee who oversee the governance and finances of the organisation and an Executive officer who oversees the operational side of the organisation.
Care Norfolk Inc. employs 22 staff and has a volunteer pool of 10 people locally.
We have over 130 seniors who we work with seven days a week, 365 days of the year.
We provide support to 13 people with disability on island who are working towards their chosen goals in life.
